Wild Borneo is a thrilling nature and wildlife adventure through one of the planet’s most biologically rich regions. As the world’s third-largest island, Borneo is home to some of the oldest and tallest tropical rainforests on Earth. These emerald canopies shelter a spectacular diversity of life—from endangered orangutans and proboscis monkeys to colorful hornbills, flying lemurs, and over 300 tropical bird species. Along the coast, Selingan Island offers an unforgettable encounter with nesting turtles and the journey of tiny hatchlings as they make their way to the sea.
Our adventure begins in the vibrant jungle sanctuaries of Sepilok and Semenggoh, where we witness the conservation efforts for rehabilitating wild orangutans. We then journey deep into Bako National Park, exploring its unique mangrove ecosystems, home to the rare proboscis monkey, silvered leaf monkeys, and a host of reptiles and birdlife.
From there, we continue to the dense jungles of Danum Valley, a region of virgin lowland rainforest teeming with rare species such as the Bornean bearded pig, smooth-coated otter, and rhinoceros hornbill. In the forests beneath the majestic peaks of Mount Kinabalu, we search for pygmy elephants, monitor lizards, and long- and pig-tailed macaques. We also navigate the Kinabatangan River, one of Borneo’s best wildlife-viewing areas, for an unforgettable safari experience.
This journey through Wild Borneo is more than a tour—it’s an in-depth exploration of a biologically complex and vital corner of our planet. From the treetops to the rivers and reefs, every moment of this tropical expedition is packed with opportunities to witness rare and endangered wildlife in their natural habitat.
