Today, immerse yourself in the spiritual and cultural heart of the Kathmandu Valley. Begin with a visit to Swayambhunath Stupa, popularly known as the Monkey Temple. After breakfast, we set out for Chitwan National Park, Nepal’s premier wildlife reserve nestled in the lush Terai lowlands. We’ll either take a scenic drive through the rolling middle hills and expansive plains—offering an authentic glimpse of rural Nepal.

Upon arrival, we’ll check in to Jungle Villa Resort, our peaceful retreat situated on the banks of the Rapti River. Surrounded by dense greenery and located at the northern edge of the park, the resort offers a front-row seat to the natural world—don’t be surprised if you spot wildlife right from your room or the property grounds!

In the afternoon, enjoy a serene canoe ride on the Rapti River. Drift silently past jungle lined banks, watching for crocodiles sunning on the shores, birds flitting through the reeds, and maybe even wildlife coming to drink — a peaceful introduction to the magic of Chitwan’s wild side.

Rise early for a full day of wildlife adventure in Chitwan National Park—Nepal’s first and most iconic wildlife reserve, and a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. Spanning 932 square kilometers of dense sal forest and riverine jungle, this richly biodiverse sanctuary is home to over 500 species of birds and an impressive
variety of mammals and reptiles.

Our day begins with a private jeep safari,accompanied by an expert naturalist. As we journey through sal forests, tall grasslands, and hidden wetlands, keep an eye out for one-horned rhinoceroses, herds of spotted and sambar deer, wild boar, Hanuman langurs, and Rhesus macaques. With luck,we may even encounter elusive creatures like the sloth bear, leopard, or the mighty Bengal tiger, best seen during the quiet hours of dawn or dusk.

We’ll stop for a scenic packed lunch deep within the park, a chance to take in the serene surroundings before continuing our exploration into less-traveled areas—perfect for birdwatching and rare wildlife sightings. Be on the lookout for marsh mugger crocodiles and the rare, fish eating Gharial along the riverbanks. Today is all about reconnecting with nature and rejuvenating the spirit. The area is home to a wide variety of Himalayan and migratory species. With some luck, you may even spot rare and endangeredVultures—including Himalayan, Red headed, White-rumped, and Egyptian Vultures—as well as majestic raptors like the Booted Eagle, Mountain Hawk-Eagle,Bonelli’s Eagle, and the Crested Serpent Eagle.

In the afternoon, unwind at the Himalayan Nature Spa, where you can indulge in classical Ayurvedic therapies, soothing massages, yoga, or guided meditation—all conducted by experienced Ayurvedic practitioners. For those looking to cool off, a refreshing swim in Begnas Lake is both invigorating and fun.

Alternatively, explore the surrounding countryside on foot. Several village trails crisscross the area, offering opportunities for gentle day hikes ranging from 2 to 6 hours, depending on your interest and energy level.

This morning, we leave the peaceful surroundings of Begnas Lake Resort and travel toward the heart of Pokhara.

We begin with a traditional wooden boat ride across the serene waters of Phewa Lake, stopping at the island-based Barahi Temple, a sacred Hindu shrine. From here, we embark on a scenic hike through lush forests and a traditional Gurung village, gradually ascending to the World Peace Stupa (1,222 m). This short trek offers captivating views over Pokhara Valley and the towering Annapurna range. After the hike, we visit either the International Mountain Museum, which highlights Himalayan geography, culture, and biodiversity, or the Tibetan Refugee Camp,where you can explore vibrant handicrafts and learn about the Tibetan community in exile.

In the afternoon, we take a scenic drive up to Sarangkot (approx. 12 km / 45 min), a hilltop village renowned for its sweeping Himalayan panoramas. Upon arrival, we check in to the stylish and serene Sarangkot Mountain Lodge. Spend the evening soaking in views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri as the sun sets over the peaks.

Wake up early to witness the breathtaking Himalayan sunrise from Sarangkot, where the golden light slowly unveils the majestic peaks of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Machhapuchhre—an unforgettable moment.

After breakfast, we begin our journey westward with a scenic drive to Kusma, passing through hill villages and terraced landscapes typical of western Nepal.
Upon reaching the outskirts of Kusma, we begin a short yet rewarding trek into the Kaligandaki Gorge—one of the deepest river canyons in the world. The trail winds along ridges offering panoramic views of steep terraced hillsides carved into the mountains by generations of farmers. Lower terraces are often planted with rice, while higher ones host barley, buckwheat, potatoes, and millet—a living mosaic of Nepal’s rural heritage.

The trail also passes through patches of subtropical forest, alive with birdlife. Keep an eye out for warblers, tits, babblers, the vocal White-crested Laughingthrush, and the vividly colored Green Magpie.

By midday, we reach our peaceful riverside campsite on the banks of the Kaligandaki River, surrounded by towering cliffs and the soothing sounds of water and wind. A hot lunch, freshly prepared by our camping crew, awaits us as we settle in and take in the serene surroundings. As the sun sets, we gather around a crackling campfire for a rustic dinner under the stars—capping off a beautiful day immersed in the great outdoors.

Today we continue our journey with a gentle hike to Narayansthan, a peaceful village
perched at approximately 1,200 meters. The trail leads us through a scenic stretch of
countryside, starting with crossings over dramatic suspension bridges that span the
deep gorges of the Kali Gandaki and Modi Khola rivers. These iconic bridges offer thrilling views of the rivers far below and the lush hills rolling into the horizon.

As we reach Kaiya village, the pace slows. We walk among vibrant paddy fields, where locals still tend their land using time-honored farming methods. Along the way, we may visit small temples, learn about traditional agricultural practices,
and share tea with friendly villagers whose warm hospitality captures the spirit of rural Nepal. This is a rare opportunity to immerse ourselves in daily village life, gaining a deeper understanding of the cultural fabric that holds these communities together. As the day draws to a close, we head to our cliffside campsite, where we’ll unwind amidst tranquil surroundings and sweeping views—an ideal spot to reflect on the immersive cultural experience of the day.

Today, we begin our southbound journey after breakfast, with packed lunches in hand,descending through the scenic and historically rich Kaligandaki Corridor—a route once vital to traders, pilgrims, and Gurkha soldiers returning home from faraway postings. Now newly constructed as a motorable highway linking India and China, this strategic corridor winds through deep river valleys and terraced hills, offering striking views and a glimpse into Nepal’s layered history.

On the way, we visit Rani Mahal in Palpa, an exquisite 19th-century riverside palace built by General Khadga Shamsher Rana in memory of his beloved queen. Often referred to as the “Taj Mahal of Nepal,” this tranquil, scenic gem lies nestled along the Kali Gandaki River and is accessible via a short trail walk.

After soaking in the peaceful ambiance and views at Rani Mahal, we continue our journey down into the Terai lowlands, eventually reaching Lumbini by afternoon—the sacred birthplace of Lord Buddha and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Upon arrival, we take time to explore the Sacred Garden, the spiritual heart of Lumbini. Here, we visit the Maya Devi Temple, believed to be the exact birthplace of Lord Buddha, along with ancient ruins and a remarkable collection of serene monasteries built by Buddhist communities from around the world. The peaceful setting— surrounded by prayer flags, ancient trees, and quiet pathways—offers a profound space for reflection and spiritual connection.

If time permits, we’ll venture into a nearby village wetland area for birding, where there’s a chance to spot species such as Sarus Cranes, Indian Spotted Eagles, and a variety of local and migratory birds.

Settle in for a tranquil evening at our eco-friendly lodge in Lumbini, surrounded by nature and steeped in quiet reverence—a perfect end to a day rich in culture, history, and spiritual discovery.

Today, we embark on a scenic overland journey westward toward Bardiya National Park, one of Nepal’s most remote and pristine wildlife reserves. We leave early to make the most of the day as we travel through the diverse landscapes of the western Terai—a lesser-traveled region full of rural charm, verdant fields, and forested ridges.

We pass through traditional villages, fertile plains, and the striking Churia Hills, where lowland jungles rise into rugged, undulating ridgelines. Along the way,witness authentic slices of daily life—children heading to school, farmers tending their land, and vendors at colorful roadside markets.

By late afternoon, we arrive at the serene Tiger Tops Karnali Lodge, nestled on the edge of Bardiya National Park. This charming eco-lodge offers a peaceful escape and a perfect base for the wildlife adventures to come.

Spend the rest of the day at leisure—perhaps enjoying a cool drink on your veranda, exploring the surrounding gardens, or simply relaxing and listening to the sounds of the forest.

These two days are dedicated to an unforgettable wildlife adventure in Bardiya National Park, Nepal’s largest and most pristine Terai wilderness, renowned as a prime tiger hotspot. Here, amid dense sal forests, expansive grasslands, and winding riverine landscapes, we embark on an exhilarating quest in search of the royal Bengal tiger—one of the world’s most iconic and elusive big cats.

For two days, we’ll be playing a thrilling game of hide and seek with the royal Bengal tiger,exploring the park’s remote zones on early morning and late afternoon jeep safaris. Our expert guides will help us track signs of the tiger’s presence and spot other incredible wildlife including leopards, wild elephants, rhinos, and more.

Walking safaris add a closer connection to the jungle, allowing us to track animal signs and listen to the forest’s sounds, sharpening our senses for any sign of the tiger’s presence. Bird lovers will delight in Bardiya’s diverse avifauna, with nearly 400 species recorded, including rare woodpeckers, drongos, kingfishers, and more.

Each evening, we return to the comfort and serenity of Tiger Tops Karnali Lodge, sharing stories under the stars and reflecting on the awe-inspiring wilderness experience.

Depending on the time of our return flight to Kathmandu, there might be time in the morning for some last-minute bird and mammal viewing.

We will make the scenic two-hour drive to Nepalgunj Airport, from where we catch our one-hour return flight to Kathmandu. If the weather is clear, we will have another opportunity to admire the snow-capped peaks of the Great Himalaya as we head east past Annapurna, ‘Fishtail’ (Machhapuchhre), and Langtang.

Back in the vibrant city of Kathmandu, we’ll enjoy our final day with plenty of time to explore the bustling streets of Thamel—the main tourist hub. Thamel is a colorful maze of banners, music shops, bakeries, internet cafes, restaurants, bars, hotels, and eclectic shops, filled with travelers from around the globe. Alternatively, you may choose to relax and unwind at the hotel.

In the evening, we will gather for a special farewell dinner at one of Kathmandu’s excellent local restaurants to celebrate the journey and share our experiences.
